Privacy first

Privacy Policy

Effective October 3, 2026. This policy covers the Mail Tracker website, dashboard, PWA, and Chrome extension.

Information we process

When you choose to track a message, we store your account ID, sender Gmail address, recipients, subject, send time, a random tracking token, and the destination URLs you choose to track. We do not store the message body, attachments, Google password, or Gmail password.

Open tracking

A one-pixel image records the time of a request, a broad device/browser label derived from the user agent, and technical request data needed for security and reliability. Repeated requests within 30 seconds and detected sender self-opens are excluded.

Click tracking

When link tracking is enabled, links pass through our secure redirect so we can record the click time and then send the visitor to the original destination. Link tracking is disabled for Free accounts.

Chrome extension access

The extension runs only on Gmail and communicates only with Mail Tracker’s extension endpoints. It stores settings and a private browser token in Chrome’s extension storage. The token is stored only as a one-way hash in our database, can be revoked from the dashboard, and expires after 90 days of inactivity.

How we use and share data

Data is used only to provide tracking, analytics, notifications, account security, support, and billing. We do not sell personal data. Essential hosting, authentication, email delivery, and payment providers process only the data needed to operate those services.

Retention and deletion

Free-plan history is available for 7 days; paid plans retain history while the account remains active. You can revoke connected browsers from the dashboard and request tracked-data or account deletion through support. Security and billing records may be retained where legally required.

Your choices

You can turn tracking off per message or Gmail account, disable link tracking, manage notifications, and revoke browsers from the dashboard. Browser permissions can also be removed in Chrome at any time. Tracked-data and account-deletion requests are handled through support.

Contact

Privacy and support requests are handled through the Mail Tracker account dashboard. A public support email will be added to the Chrome Web Store listing before submission.
